Atlantis’ Final Voyage Home as Seen From Space

STS-135 - Atlantis' Final Re-entry

As Atlantis streaked across the Earth’s atmosphere for a final time, an astronaut onboard the International Space Station snapped this photograph of it’s fiery plasma trail. Atlantis landed safely in Florida on July 21, 2011. Space Shuttle Atlantis will be put on display at the Kennedy Space Center.
