Air launched missiles use it to continually reduce the intercept error. You can observe this on the road. When approaching an intersection, look at a vehicle approaching from the left or right. Fix it with your eyes on a spot on the windshield/window, do not move your head, glance back and forth to the intersection and the vehicle. If the vehicle stays in the same spot, a collision will happen. You can enhance this by increasing or decreasing your speed and observe the vehicle move from the spot. And yeah, I think my favorite part of the job are those moments where you are doing mach .77 just a few feet above a cloud layer: video doesn't even come close to conveying the feeling of speed.
